MY SON THE MESSIAH

The novel, My Son the Messiah, presents an absorbing account of the life of Jesus of Nazareth, one of the most influential figures in human history, as told by his mother, Mary. Mary’s account fills in the many gaps in the scant scriptural record of the lives of the central characters of the New Testament and in so doing brings them to life as never before.

My Son the Messiah depicts events as they may have been beginning with a colourful account of Mary’s own childhood which was dramatic in its own way. It then follows her life and that of Jesus through to his crucifixion and beyond. This novel is more than a reworking of the gospel story and the author has suggested some new and challenging interpretations of such seminal events of the New Testament as Mary’s conception of Jesus, Jesus’s baptism, and the nature of Jesus’ relationship to God.

While these interpretations have no greater claim to truth than the available evidence and human intuition would afford them, the ability of the contemporary reader to understand the nature of Jesus has been enhanced by the availability of accounts of the lives of great spiritual teachers of other faiths.

Although a number of works of fiction dealing with the characters of the New Testament have been published in recent years, the plot of My Son the Messiah is in no sense derived from any other work of biblical fiction and the author’s perspective is entirely his own.

My Son the Messiah may now be purchased as a paperback via the internet at a cost of A$19.95 plus air postage and handling. Click here to purchase.
